K4 -- 5th Grade
Our School Age
programs are located on-site at the public elementary schools in the
Shorewood, Whitefish Bay, and Glendale school districts as well as
Indian Hill School in River Hills. In addition, we have programs at
St. Robert School in Shorewood and Holy Family School and St Monica
School in Whitefish Bay. The School Age program provides care for
children from kindergarten through 5th grade and is divided into four
components:
Before kindergarten
Before school
After kindergarten
After school
School Age care
is available from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. During the school year, children
can attend between two and five days a week, with the option of
all day care provided during school vacations and other days when
there is no school. Please note, not all components are offered
at all schools.
Before
and After Kindergarten Programs
Teachers carefully
plan the day to complement the structure of the Kindergarten classroom
rather than compete with it. Communication and problem solving skills,
independence and responsibility, self-awareness and initiative,
and cooperation and conflict resolution are all skills and dispositions
fostered in our programs. We offer a child-centered environment
with kid-sized furnishings, arranged to accommodate the many needs
and moods of this active age group. Soft elements and children's
creations further define the personality of the room. The children
enjoy theme weeks, dramatic play, puzzles, group games, snack time,
outdoor play, sensory experiences, science discoveries, table games,
puppet play, story time, neighborhood walks, block construction
..... and the list goes on!!
